Go for it! I hadn't thought to be that specific, but it may be needed. I'll send out a few emails this weekend.

How specific do we want to get with the purpose statement?
Are we looking to share information? Support research in the IS field? Collaborate on projects articles etc? Or assist others (WIT) joining the IS community? There really is quite a lot of ground to cover, however we could add topics (pages) for each of these as they arise, just as there are already pages for Software and Theory.

I think at this stage of development, there's a need for the community to actually progess the purpose. The really broad aim of the site is to support research, so that gives us a lot of ground that we can cover. It will be the participants who shape the community, in this case, rather than any ideas we had prior to starting. Do you find this valuable?

I've added some depth to some of the pages, and some intros.

There's now a statement of purpose page. Do you think it's visible enough?
